October's Special People

My sweet "Joshie squashie" turned 11 on Oct.3!!
Guess he's outgrown my nickname for him but not his sweet affectionate ways.

Kenny finally caught up to his best buddy, Timmy, and turned a grand 7 years old! He's slowly catching the reading bug too.

and Kenny Benny's still a little fun-loving, goofy charmer!

Happy birthdays also to:

- cousin Selina (Oct.5)

- our twin cousins Tony & Krista (Oct.25)

Congratulations also to Ralph & Sharon on your wedding anniversary Oct.7!

and to Dad & Mom who celebrated another year together with a whole day's outing (Oct.30).

I thank the Lord for you all!

Thanksgiving, Monday Oct.8

We celebrated our many blessings at our house again with a light Thanksgiving meal featuring delicious turkey soup and buns, with pumpkin pie for dessert.
Devotions was a special time of giving thanks to the Giver of all things. It was especially precious to hear the children pray. Out of the mouth of children, God ordains praise.

Pals having fun

More Camping scenes

Dad trying to get the rusted bolts undone!

Eventually, Charlene, a nice Dutch lady we met, had her husband come and he got the tire off & in the trunk for Dad!
So nice! She & her 3 young kids and dog were there for a few days - fun to watch them flying kites, canoeing (all 4 & dog! - wish I had a picture)

The little cabin at the Doll House B&B in Bloomfield
Kara came for a reprieve after her wedding was postponed. It was an intense weekend but really special time of drawing closer as friends - as sharing another's burdens & bringing them to the Throne of Grace will do.

Hard-working, generous organic farmers!

Summer again!?

What beautiful weather we've been having lately, eh? Some of these days have been feeling like the middle of hot, humid July. The kids enjoyed some time in "Elmo", our sprinkler, to keep cool.

The Lord reigns, He is robed in majesty

We did get to watch some fearsome, awesome looking clouds and lightening shows!

Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
Mightier than the waves of the sea,
the LORD on high is mighty! Psalm 93:1,4

"The heaven proclaim His righteousness, and all the peoples see His glory." Psalm 97:6

Unfortunately not all who see it, really see it - they miss their Maker's glory. So sad.

We have more people to pray for whom the Lord brought into our path. May He water the seed!

Whoever made this excellent sculpture of a man grieving over a dying (anyone know its name?), appears to have a right understanding of history and Genesis! Yes, dinosaurs and man lived together before the world-wide flood and afterwards until their extinction. Someone else didn't like this protrayed and destroyed the part of the man the next day after we took these photos (his head is already damaged here but was completely gone & hand... then). Typical, isn't it. Still, we were encouraged when we first saw this work of art.

At the beach again!

We enjoyed an extended summer camping again in September at our favourite place!
Praise the Lord for His mercies in giving us beautiful weather most of the time!
I really needed that as still recovering from the oral surgery...

Aren't they a cute couple?

She's Crawling!

Yes, it's true, our little baby girl is crawling. She started moving a tiny bit a couple days ago, but she is getting around more easily now - still slipping on the kitchen floor, going slow, and not very far yet, but definitely crawling. It's so cute, 'cause she's so small and her 'steps' are so tiny.

:) She's also very recently started getting up from her tummy to sitting, pulling herself up to standing in her crib, drinking juice from a cup (that's 1/2 the size of her head :) ), and getting into trouble in her little bit of exploring. We now need to keep all paper and books, and whatever she shouldn't be putting in her mouth off the floor. She also gets herself stuck when she stands up because once she's up she hasn't figured out how to get down, and when she doesn't want to go to sleep she just sits up in bed and plays instead. Oh dear. :) So much fun, though!

August & September Birthdays...

Aug 23rd Rachel began her birthday at our house where she was working on her sewing projects - birthday presents for her brothers. Sweet!
She's becoming quite an accomplished little lady at 11 years of age.

Same thing with Maria - both of them were here on her birthday (July 11) getting sewing lessons from Oma. Birthday breakfast of banana split, crunchy cereal, and fruit tea! Looks yummy, Maria!

Sept 1 Timmy turned 7 and looks quite learned with his spectacles. He is doing very well with school.

Dad & Mom got a surprise belated combined present from Sharon dear. A beautiful memoriore of this year's grand family vacation at the cottage. WOW! What an excellent job she did putting together their excellent photos plus some of mine with texts...

It was so much work and turned out so nice, that Sharon had extra copies printed - order yours today for only $99! (kidding). Chris got really spoiled for her birthday, Sept 5.

Elisabeth celebrated her 17th on Sept 8 and her birthday present, Andrew, turned 5!

Andrew is in kindergarten - tho somehow I keep thinking he's older than that - he's such a wise little man with a charming smile :)

Rachel Joy turned (well I won't tell her age) on Sept 26 and we celebrated (for) her at Sandbanks :)

Other birthdays included Theresa P's - Sept 4
Nathaniel Christopher made his entrance into Krista & Chris' family - PTL!
Anniversaries of John & Betty (8 years!!) - Sept 11
Maurice & Rachel (7 years!!) - Sept 30

Congratulations all of you and the Lord's richest blessings!!

Who are these little cuties sitting on our bench??

It was so nice to have my friends come and stay with us a couple days!
They've showed me great hospitality so many times in years past.

Finally got to know Noah and meet Faithie - what a sweetie she is!
and quite bright too - like her brother

K&R, Thanks for coming and being such tidy and considerate guests :)
We thoroly enjoyed it - come again!
Noah got a kick out of Dad

Monday night John's work (Minor Bros.) had a family picnic at a farm called Richardson's. It has a corn maze that's apparently quite large - can take 1 to 1-1/2 hours to go through the whole thing. We only went through a small part of it, but it was still pretty neat. Supper was provided, there was a small straw bale maze, they even gave the kids free glow things for our walk through the corn maze - the girls picked out some earrings and Josiah chose a bracelet (pretty thrilling for them) - and afterward there was a campfire with marshmallows. Everybody was very tired by the time we headed for home.
One of the trucks John drives for Minor Bros. Often on his delivery runs, he drives by our house and always lets us know by honking for us. Sometimes there follows a mad dash to the window to see Daddy go by. :)

Our garden

This year was our first year with a vegetable garden of sorts and it's so exciting seeing some of the first bit of harvest. We ate some beans, a carrot and a cucumber already. :)

Some of our carrots & cucumbers, & there are even grapes growing (we didn't plant those):

Joanna is 6 months (last week) and sitting by herself, eating a bit of baby food, and learning more new things all the time.

Here's Joanna getting ready for a nap ...

... and here she is just waking up.

First time in bath ring - feeling independent and having lots of fun.

Now she joins us at the supper table.

What a precious blessing our little girl is! We are so thankful to our heavenly Father for yet another healthy, darling child. We continue to seek His guidance as we raise them all.

Kathy & Lori

Kathy is expecting her 7th! Congratulations, Kathy!

Noelle (the 3 triplet ;) ) with 3 of Kathy & Rudy's girls - Joelle, Anne Marie, Esther

Their oldest Jonathan is doing very well, PTL! (He had a severe seizure disorder for a couple of years when younger)

Dear Lori & I - we go back all the way from grade school.
Tho we don't see each other often with her living in the States,
when we do, its so natural - just click right away
- so neat!
