Fun with kiddos
A new man appeared on the scene :)
and treated me to a picnic lunch at the Lakeshore beach with Hero's Certified Grass-fed beef burgers
Jay was impressed enough to come back 1 week later
while we were babysitting kids while R&S were chaperoning at Camp Tamarak.
Bethany and David helped run the Woodland Diner
Dad&Mom joined us for a real treat!
The menu was concocted by Joseph earlier and
featured tempting Entrees like:
Rotten Log with Caterpillar Spread
Porcupine Stew
Scarlet Worms on a Bed of PosonIvy
and
Appetizers: Grubs in Pine Sap, Mini Seeedy Saucers
... you get the picture! Fortunately for us, the cook had run out of all those interesting, woodsy ingredients and so had to use regular veggies and meats for the meal - and it was still quite delicious -Unfortunately our enthusiastic, giggly waitress flipped our guest's food right off the plate on to the moss below and when Tia wouldn't even eat it, he wondered if perhaps some poison ivy or rotten log was found after all and,tho he was a woodsy man, he lost much of his appetite ;)
However, to the delight of the kids, he was a great sport and praised them highly for their cheerful efforts
Exciting times!
