therefore CHOOSE LIFE

Its Sanctity of Human Life Week.

Our society does not value life created in God's image, our courts are against us, the laws protecting life are eroding. What can we do?

We may not be able to be on the front lines of the fight, but we can reach someone God puts in our path from day to day:
- that man at the office who is pressuring his girlfriend to have an abortion,
- or the clerk at your favourite store who is considering having one...
We can tell them compassionately the truth about it & how it will plague her the rest of her life.
Maybe its a fellow student or neighbour who is suffering from the after-effects of having taken her preborn baby's life. We can point her to our Lord Jesus Christ and His forgiveness and the answers He has provided for human suffering & death.
A Pregnancy Care Center can help also. If you can’t find a local PCC in your phone book, call 1-800-661-9800.

And let's not forget the disabled and elderly whose lives are also being devalued and threatened.
Lets celebrate the value our Creator God has placed on human life this week & on Sunday, and specially pray for our neighbours, associates, our nation, and also those being slaughtered in other countries through persecution, genocide, terrorism.... and pray that the Good News continues to go out and take root in people's hearts since real and lasting life can only be found in Christ. And may we, who profess His name, live that way each day!

"...I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing;
therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice,
and that you may cling to Him , for He is you life and the length of your days;" Deut.30:19-21

Happy New Year!

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
~ Psalm 103:11-12

Praise God that He has cast away our sins of last year from us and that we can go forward with a clean slate! I thank Him for the hope we have in Him for the New Year.

The Lord says in Isaiah 62:1-4 to His people:

…And for Jerusalem’s [the Church’s] sake I will not rest,
Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness…
You shall be called by a new name…
You shall be called [My Delight]…
For the LORD delights in you…

This was the text that our pastor preached on New Year’s day service – which I actually got to attend!
How encouraging and astounding that our Creator God , glorious in holiness, rejoices over and delights in us, His people, His bride!
And that He will not rest until He has finished the work begun in us!

Hope this is true of everyone who reads this.
May you all have a very blessed 2007!

Christmas Blessings

"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world,so that we might live through Him." 1John 4:9

The LOVE of God, so that we might LIVE, not just exist!
We trust you all had a blessed and joyous Christmas, celebrating the LOVE and LIFE Christ came to give. Finding time in the midst of the business and feasting to reflect on what that meant for God and what it means for His people and the world is not easy but makes all the difference.

What really does God's love mean to us?
How does He show it each day?
There are so many facets to His love!
I had one of them driven home this Christmas - His Perfecting Love. Especially poignent to me because the outreach card by James MacDonald that I "happened" to send to aquaintances, health prof'ls & people struggling in some way, said on the front cover:
God's love is not a pampering love - it's a perfecting love.
Soon after I got to experience that perfecting love again in a new way. Isn't that our God? I love it! (Well, not the crash, but my Father & His workings!)
And I love it even more when He brings deliverance and answers to prayers! :)
Its coming, I'm sure! I appreciate all the prayers!

Anyways, that's why I didn't post on time for Christmas and share some more pictures that we have (don't know when I'll get to do that since I have to do it on Dad's computer which bothers me right now). Hopefully some of our other family will post!

Thanks to all who made Christmas a memorable time again, for the visits (Pastor & Cher, Liz), friends who sent cards, letters (we love to hear from you!!), Betty & John for spending Christmas day with us, Chris & Maurice for hosting us all for our grand family Christmas celebration... and all our dear family & loved ones!
Thanks especially to our Saviour who give us reason to celebrate!

Our Church's Christmas Program

T'was on Friday - a good way to get into the right Christmas spirit :)
The choirs and instrumentalists blessed us with their music (and antics -some cuties ;)
We even learned (or attempted) a Spanish song for our missionaries.
It was nicely set up and I was pleased to see a couple of my friends come too.

Oh Give Thanks to the LORD

"Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
His mercy endures forever." Psalm 107:1

Happy Thanksgiving to our U.S. friends!

Yesterday, we celebrated the Lord's goodness to our far away friends (no not as far as the States - only Aylmer) by taking a trip out to visit 3 families that we haven't seen in a while.
We very much enjoyed visiting with Joyce & family (minus Jake who was working :( ). They have an ideal property with much potential!

The welcome parade :)

In their living room:

We also got to visit Brenda & Carl's and met Emma, Daniel, Heidi. Sweeties!

And my friend, Irene, whom many of you prayed for. She is continuing to improve!! PTL!!

We are thankful for a beautiful day, travelling mercies and extra energy for me to be able to really enjoy it!

God is good!

THANKSGIVING Weekend OCT

Yes, I'm a little behind - but did want to get these on still.
And Thanksgiving is always current :)
We always have so much to be thankful for!

Rememberance Day Nov.11 and Voting Day today remind us to be thankful for our freedom and peace in our land, for all those who gave their lives for this privilege - also the privelege of voting - yes, even Municipal elections!
Though there aren't always godly people to vote for, at least we can let them know we care about the important life and morality issues. Thankfully we know God is still in control and pray that He will put the best men & women into office and have mercy on our land yet.

We're thankful that Dad's sister from Holland, Tante Anneke, and Marius could come to visit and meet all the family - the youngsters made quite a good impression on them. Thanks everyone!
